Sometimes I just sit back and marvel at some of the web sites on the Internet. Then I think about the fact that it is not just amazing that they exist, but the immense success that some of these sites have had. So many people have been struck with an idea and decided to create their own web site. You just never know what is going to take off online. Sometimes I think that the Internet is the most unpredictable thing in the world. The Internet community is huge and only growing. The number of obscure, unique and offensive ideas that have found a huge Internet audience is astounding.

So every once in a while I seriously consider learning how to design a web site if only for the chance that it would take off and I would suddenly have a new career path. Then it dawns on me that I don’t really know how to design a web site and that I should learn a program like FrontPage. If I had some FrontPage assistance I could skip trying to learn how to write HTML code and be on the way to creating the next big thing. Look at some of the uncommon ideas that have found huge success online and just think if it is out of the realm of possibilities that you could achieve the same amount of success with a good idea and FrontPage assistance.

Facebook and MySpace – The concept behind these sites alone took me a while to understand, and it took me even more time to understand why they are necessary. They’re not really, but they are a great way to stay in touch with people you don’t see very often and share pictures, videos and more. The idea is relatively simple, and anyone could create something similar with some FrontPage assistance. The great thing about a web site is that it is constantly flexible, and as the success of these sites has grown, they have been able to expand by adding new applications and collaborating with other businesses and web sites. There are even people who have gained national fame from being a MySpace celebrity and have been given television shows. Comedy and satire sites – There are an endless amount of comedy sites created by average people that have seen varying levels of success with or without FrontPage assistance. One site I like is essentially a rant site created by a grumpy computer programmer in his spare time. Another is a sports satire site that has new, fake news stories about sports each week. Another site that comes to mind is essentially an archive of hilarious stories from a man who drinks a lot and generally acts with little regard for other people. This site now sees more than enough traffic to receive a good amount of ad revenue. All three of the authors of these sites have received deals to write their own books, and the last site’s author has had two book deals and a television pilot. And all three of the sites are not visually impressive and could easily be created with little FrontPage assistance.
